Simple SMC 1.1
Status: Waiting for prototype PCB boards...

This is a simplified version of Chubb's SMC board, but built around a MosFET driver chip that doesn't need the plethora of external parts that the CMRI board does. The board uses a RJ12/6 connector to provide Power (5v or 12v), Ground, direction control and normal, diverging and occupation feedback. It also has a provision for supplying 5v thru the RJ connector and 12V via an onboard DC jack, in case the 5v from the I/O board provides insufficient drive for the tortoise.

Update: Jan 2011 Ordered a set of 1.0 prototype boards from Seeed, should be here by end of January
Update: Feb 2011 Boards arrived, sample worked as expected, should have included decoupling caps on each chip, pullups in case the control signals are disconnected and I got the polarity of the power plug backwards.
All fixed in version 1.1
